Ariana brings a wide range of experience over 20 years of practice as a psychologist working in a range of industries. These include working primarily with ages 12 and up, in the context of forensic settings, disability services, workers compensation return to same or different employers and workplace psychological safety, trauma related conditions including trauma related diagnoses and Borderline Personality Disorder as well as anxiety and phobia management as well as addictions. Having worked as a direct clinician, and in management, Ariana has a history of working across government, private and not for profit organisations, as well as in private practice with a goal oriented, independence-building approach to delivering services.
Ariana draws from a number of modalities, to be able to match the therapy choice to the needs and presenting concerns of the person, including, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Motivational Interviewing as well as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
With a strong focus on physical management of symptoms, alongside the cognitive and emotional responses, identifying the issue without judgement, practicing acceptance and integration of self and working towards deep skills development in order to not only deal with the issues of today, but position for long term self development and capacity building, Ariana uses a person centred approach to developing treatment options that assist people to be the agents of their own change.
