About Simone Glasson-Walls
Simone is an experienced counsellor, with a 28-year history in providing counselling services for individuals with a range of concerns. She has been providing psychological services for the past eight years as a Psychologist while working with people of all ages.
​
Simone has a passion in trauma recovery and in providing therapy for post-traumatic stress, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, addictions, work and relationship problems, grief, and low self-esteem. Simone enjoys working in partnership with clients and creating meaningful change for psychological and emotional health.
Simone has worked in a variety of roles which include mental health triage settings, crises intervention, community mental health, rural and remote mental health, suicide prevention and private practice. Prior to becoming a Psychologist, Simone spent ten years’ working as a youth work practitioner/ counsellor with homeless young people and subsequently, a further five years training and specialising in treating addictions.
With a warm and empathic approach, Simone enjoys helping people to become empowered while tapping into their strengths and helping them overcome many life challenges. Simone will tailor therapy to each person’s unique needs. In the process, she may draw on a variety of modalities, however the therapeutic relationship is key.

While Simone has training and experience in the treatment of mental health difficulties, she believes that nobody knows you better than you do. Simone’s approach to therapy is trauma-informed, compassionate, and collaborative. She can share with you her knowledge of evidence-based treatment techniques and strategies, but it is you who sets the goals and pace for sessions.

In her down time Simone enjoys spending time with family and being in nature. She enjoys water skiing, swimming, playing squash and photography.
